The side effects of some of these drugs are no joke. One particular drug used for panic attacks can actually cause depression. That just doesn’t bear thinking about.

It’s actually quite well known that anxiety attacks are more a mental than physical problem. I’m not trying to play down how serious they can be. Still, it’s a mental thing.

Surely then if it’s mental, wouldn’t the cure be mental as well? What I’m getting at here is that we already have the power to cure ourselves. We simply need to be taught to use it properly.

In an ideal world you would recognise a rising panic attack. You then start using the skills you’ve learned to combat the attack. And you immediately stop the attack and carry on with what you were doing.

Sounds too good to be true. It’s definitely true this time though. Many people will use this system every single day. Get these techniques under your hat & you have a panic cure for life.

This system is out there on the net, waiting for you. You could have your hands on it within 10 minutes. And then a few days from now you could be well on the way to being free of any panic disorder.

So, you can carry on as you are. Panicking about the possibility of a panic attack. Or you could arm yourself with a method that will teach you how to stop them in their tracks.

MENOPAUSE IS NOT A HORMONE IMBALANCE!

Sunday Dec 20, 2009

Allopathic Medicine May Well Be Mistaken!

The position that the reason for all the menopause symptoms is due to an imbalance of hormones is a superficial perspective and deserves a deeper look. Menopause symptoms may include:

  • hot flashes
  • irregular periods
  • vaginal & urinary changes
  • sleep disturbances
  • feeling overwhelmed
  • weight gain
  • loss of desire
  • craving: sweet carbs, alcohol
  • minor to major depression
  • hair loss
  • ear ringing
  • headaches
  • bloating, nausea
  • worsening allergies
  • bone density loss
  • changes in breath & body odor
  • decreased fertility
  • night sweats
  • changes in appearance
  • fatigue
  • vaginal dryness
  • irritability
  • constipation/diarrhea
  • anxiety/palpitations
  • memory problems & fuzzy thinking
  • fibroids
  • aching joints
  • changes in menstruation
  • changes in sexual desire or function
  • mood swings
  • hair loss/thinning
  • Skin changes

Are these symptoms tied to deficiency of hormones? Could it be systemic? The whole body is may be suffering from top to bottom.

ANOTHER PROPOSAL – UNDERLYING CAUSE:

Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective: Menopause is considered a deficiency condition of the liver and qi (life force). When the blood and energy quality is depleted and contaminated then all of the organs cannot complete their tasks. This condition causes the liver to overheat which rises through the body, wreaking havoc in its path. The heart, lungs, digestion, glands, throat, mouth & teeth, nose, eyes, ears, brain, skin and hair become heated and dried resulting in the symptoms, listed above. In addition, the liver does not filter the blood where it becomes sluggish and clotted.

Because the body is deficient of essential body energy and quality filtered blood, then the glands do not perform normally. Their emission may be intermittent or non- secreting overall. while the blood is cleansed, usually enriched, then all the body’s organs advance. Gradually, the energy comes back and they are able to function normally. The glandular functions, secrete once again, assisting the body in its healthy function.

The body is not deficient of hormones. The blood is clogged like sludge. Glands are not receiving/transmitting essential messages, timely and/or minimally!

In this case, why do we ingest or provide supplementary hormones. Doesn’t that risk an overload of hormones? Recall when you were a teenager and your hormones were extremely revved. We don’t desire to risk experiencing that again. We have enough hormones. If we nourish our blood, exercise, sleep, manage stress, etc. our hormones come back and supports increased balance.

So if Chinese medicine knows the problem, then what is their answer to this to this deficiency? View underneath.

Recognizing Symptoms Of Depression In Men

Friday Dec 18, 2009

Clinical Depression was once considered a woman’s ailment, but the fact is that millions of men suffer from this affliction as well. Men are far less likely to talk to someone about how they are feeling than women. They also are less likely to seek help. Understanding symptoms of depression in men is key to proper diagnosis.

Men tend to feel inferior if they admit to experiencing depression. They feel that they must put up a “strong” front. They mainly focus only on the physical aspect of depression rather than the emotional. After all, it’s not “manly” do be depressed, so why admit to this apparent flaw?

Some of the more common complaints resulting from depression include fatigue, low self esteem, and anger. Often, it is more difficult to diagnose depression in men because their symptoms can be quite different from those felt by women.

Low sex drive is a common complaint in men who suffer from depression. This leads to feelings of inadequacy and failure. The truth is that it is a medical condition and can be treated successfully. The key is honesty with your physician.

Depression in men can cause them to keep their true feelings hidden. They often will be irritable and strike out at loved ones. They often become aggressive and may turn to drugs and alcohol. This makes the situation much worse.

Men are four times more likely to commit suicide than women. It is imperative to seek medical care if you have suicidal thoughts. Depression will only worsen if left untreated. Seeking help is definitely not a sign of weakness. Instead, it takes strength to get assistance.

It is important to remember that depression is a medical condition and one that needs to be treated. It is not something that only women experience and it is definitely not a failure in any way. There is no shame in seeking medical treatment.

A Young Man Makes an Appointment to See His Family Doctor About His Alcohol Difficulties and His Depression

Friday Nov 13, 2009

Denny is a nineteen-year-old teen who has finally made up his mind to go and see his family healthcare practitioner about his unhealthy and excessive drinking. At first, Denny thought he would be able to simply go on the Internet, look for some essential alcohol info and make up his mind whether or not he was an alcoholic.

Not surprisingly, he located several websites that outlined some of the typical alcoholism symptoms. That’s the good news. The less than encouraging news, regrettably, was that Denny manifested more than a few of these alcoholism symptoms.

Symptoms of Alcohol Dependency: Some Illustrations

As an illustration, Denny has been drinking substantially more than customary and he has started to have more intense quarrels with the young girl he is dating. In addition, for the first time in his young life he has been encountering sleeping difficulties. Besides this, Denny habitually has felt depressed and on a growing basis he has been demonstrating less than normal attentiveness in the classroom. Furthermore, he has felt highly stressed and more jumpy on a day-to-day basis and for the past two or three months he has manifested befuddled thinking in the classroom. Seeing as Denny has been displaying all of these symptoms, he was excusably worried about his excessive and unhealthy drinking.

So Denny finally made up his mind that he needed to make a phone call to his family physician and make an appointment. In actual fact, this was problematic for Denny because his family healthcare practitioner was also his parents’ family healthcare practitioner. The root of his discomfort was this: at the risk of embarrassing his family, he had to go and reveal his unhealthy and excessive drinking behavior to his family doctor.

When Denny arrived at the healthcare practitioner’s office, he explicitly told the doctor about the trepidation he has about his irresponsible drinking behavior. When the family healthcare practitioner asked what was bringing about this trepidation, Denny said that he had gone on the world wide web and read about alcohol dependency and especially about alcohol dependency symptoms. He then outlined all of the alcohol addiction symptoms that he evidently thought he exhibits.

A Complete Physical Appraisal and Outpatient Alcohol Treatment

The healthcare practitioner informed Denny that it was prudent of him to tackle his drinking problems, he gave Denny a complete physical examination, and suggested that he talk to his Mother and Father about registering in an out-patient alcohol rehabilitation facility that was run by Doctor Brosky, one of his doctor colleagues who is an alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse specialist.

Furthermore, when Denny expressed the fact that he has been feeling a sense of melancholy more often, the healthcare professional told Denny that alcoholism and depression on a fairly routine basis come about in the same individual. As a result, the physician also recommended that Denny talk to his Mother and Father about getting counseling in order to tackle his sense of despair. In fact, Denny can go to the local mental health center and make an appointment with Doctor Alessie, a renowned psychologist who specializes in treating teens.

The Advantage of Coping With Your Drinking Difficulties and Getting Encouraged About Making Healthy and Positive Changes in Your Life

The healthcare practitioner made it a point to tell Denny that he might not necessarily be an alcoholic, but that he was plainly drinking in an abusive manner. Stated more precisely, Denny was involving himself in teen alcohol abuse. The healthcare practitioner then notified Denny that the reason he recommended alcohol rehabilitation in the first place was because he wanted him to face his drinking problems, make sure that he stopped them from escalating, and start to live in a more healthy manner, even if it meant that he had to completely quit drinking.

In a nutshell, by effectively treating his problem drinking, Denny would be able to get his drinking issues under control and stop the negative series of events that could in all probability lead to alcoholism.

Denny understandably did not look forward to facing his Mother and Father about his excessive drinking and his depression. And he surely did not want to face the thought of getting registered into an alcohol treatment center. And as a final point, he was not overjoyed about going to a counseling psychologist about his sense of despair. Regardless of these anxieties, however, Denny as a matter of fact felt some psychological relief for the first time in quite a few months because in the end he stopped making excuses for himself and decided to do something constructive about his hazardous and abusive drinking.
