Do I have a sleep disorder ANSWER THIS PLEASE?

Tuesday Jan 13, 2009

Yea Stay up 24 hours Every day and im like 14 Idk its like my body doesnt need as much sleep as other people.

This is probably not a sleep disorder. It is much more likely to be another brain disorder, such as bipolar. People in the manic phase often experience this. Either way, you definitely need to see a doctor, since going without sleep for long periods can be very harmful to your health, physically as well as mentally!

What is it really like to spend time in a sleep disorder clinic?

Sunday Jan 11, 2009

Not much fun really. I spent one night in one with all of the monitors hooked up. EKG's, ECG's, nasal flow monitors and cameras. I slept, but it wasn't a good time. In the end, they said I was totally normal. They will be able to tell you your highest and lowest heart rate, the ammount of REM sleep you get etc.

Unless you doctor is recommending a sleep study, I wouldn't go looking for this time away from you regular bed.

is calling people on the phone while your sleeping a common sleep disorder?

Friday Jan 9, 2009

cause supposedly i've been calling people while i've been sleeping. i dont know that im doing it while im sleeping but people have been telling me that i've called them in the middle of the night and ask them some weird questions. so i was just wondering if this is a problem other people have.
fyi i don't drink, or do drugs, or taking sleeping meds

Hey friend! As I read your case, you are SLEEP WALKING. SLEEP walking is defined as a disorder that occurs when a person walks or does another activity while they are still asleep.
When someone sleep walks, they may sit up and look as though they are awake while they are actually asleep. They may get up and walk around, or do complex activities such as moving furniture, going to the bathroom, and dressing and undressing. Some people even drive a car while they are asleep. The episode can be very brief (a few seconds or minutes) or can last for 30 minutes or longer.

Some people mistakenly believe that a sleep walker should not be awakened. It is not dangerous to awaken a sleep walker, although it is common for the person to be confused or disoriented for a short time when they wake up. Another misconception is that a person cannot be injured when sleep walking. Actually, sleep walkers are commonly injured by tripping and losing balance.

The symptoms are..
Symptoms Return to top

* Eyes open during sleep
* May have blank look on face
* May sit up and appear awake during sleep
* Walking during sleep
* Other detailed activity of any type during sleep
* Not remembering the sleep walking episode upon awakening
* Confused, disoriented upon awakening
* Sleep talking does not make sense

But I suggest you read more on the source/s that I will include here in my answer. Hope this helps . =D
